Check out these baby shower gift ideas!
Baby showers are such a fun way to welcome a new little one into the world. While you can purchase something on the registry for a gift, there are several options if you are looking to gift something more personal. We’ve got a few ideas to get you started and they are pretty simple. Take a look at these do-it-yourself and purchased gift ideas to get started!
The new baby’s room is going to need some decorations to make it feel more comfortable. This frame idea is sure to be a great gift idea for anyone having a baby boy or baby girl. All you need is a sectioned photo frame and a printed poem, some pictures or any other memorable pieces of paper. We recommend choosing a frame like this one in order to place multiple items.
If you are a creative writer, you could even write your own poem to fill this frame and place a picture next to it. The picture could even be something like an animated rubber duck to go along with the theme of the shower or the nursery. You can place anything in the frame and make it even more personal to the family. This frame is something the family can hold onto for a long time, even after the baby grows up. All in all, this makes for a sentimental and beautiful gift idea.
This is not a cake you eat. However, it’s one the parents can actually use. You will need a few materials for this project. First, you are going to need a few new diapers and some rubber bands. With each individual diaper, roll it into a small cylinder shape and secure it with a rubber band. Once you have all of your diapers rolled, you can decide how big you want the “cake” to be. Generally, diaper packs have a large number of diapers in them, so you should have enough to make the size of cake that you want.
Next, you need either a toilet paper roll or paper towel roll to surround with the rolled diapers. The item in the center just needs to support the rolls of diapers. Place the toilet roll in the center and surround it with the rolled diapers standing up straight. You can make three circles around the roll with the diapers. Make sure to secure these diapers with a colorful ribbon going encircling the bottom layer completely to hold the diapers in place.
Then, you need to repeat this for the second, higher tier. For this layer, you can make two circles of diapers around the roll. Again, secure the entire layer with a pretty ribbon to hold the diapers in place.
Finally, do the same for the top layer but with a single round of diapers encircling the toilet paper roll and secure with a ribbon. At the top, you can place an adorable stuffed animal to make the whole “cake” really pop. If you need some guidance on how it should look (or simply buy one that is already made), here is one from Amazon:

DIY Baby Teething Necklace
Next up is a project that is super easy to make and can can be easily made for a boy or for a girl. All you need are some beads that are safe for chewing, such as silicone beads, some sturdy rope to thread the beads through (like a nylon cord), and a clasp to secure the necklace. These materials are easily available at craft stores and you can design this necklace in any way you want.
Choose the color beads you would like on the necklace and thread them through the rope. Generally, moms can wear these necklaces and baby can chew on them while mom is holding baby. So, you can choose colors that the mom would be most likely to wear with her outfits. Then, attach the clasp to both ends of the rope and finish the necklace. This is such a cool and functional gift idea for when the baby becomes of teething age. If you want to see what it should look like (or want to purchase this kit), we have found a kit on Amazon:
Our next idea involves you giving the a gift the parents can build on. All you need is to purchase a scrapbook and make sure to add some personal details to it. For example, you can add some cute photos of the parents before they knew they were expecting and build the story of how they prepared for the baby. Then, later on, the parents can fill in the rest with pictures of their child and mementos they have kept throughout the first months of life with a newborn. This is something they can keep for a long time and remember all of the moments in these precious days.
New Mom Survival Kit
This is another project that is easily customizable depending on the mom. You don’t have to use all of these items, but here are a few you might want to add into the basket:
- Basket to hold the items
- Shredded paper filler or tissue paper
- A bottle of wine
- Comfy socks
- A necklace
- A pretty mug
- Bags of her favorite tea or coffee
Really, you can fill this basket however you would like and make it truly unique. Don’t forget to add card so the mom knows who the gift is from and your basket is complete. To really add a final touch, you can wrap the basket in cellophane and top it off with a festive ribbon.
